Kelly doesn’t mess around. When she commits to something, she is all in. Ask anyone who knows her, and they will say the same thing. She’s hardcore.

Comfort is a big thing for her, so she has peppered the property with little spaces, where you can take a minute to relax, or perhaps pet a cat.

The cats themselves are spoiled with blankets, towers and kitty beds, but Kelly still goes out of her way to build pillow forts too, when it is requested.

Where Kelly goes truly hardcore, is when she is entertaining. She loves to make people feel welcomed, to feed them, share stories and so on. And she is prepared for overnight guests too, from available guest beds to baskets of personal accessories. She is in the process of naming the rooms for the guest pamphlet. Not even kidding.

Even delivery people are treated. Last week, it was a basket of treats. This week she added a cooler with drinks.

And then there are the real, actual nests. Kelly wants as many of those in her yard as possible. So she’s started adding baskets for birds, to go along with the feeders and the baths.

A couple of days ago, a little hummingbird hit the window right in front of us. Kelly set up an entire nursing station for the little guy – who flew away about half an hour later, unharmed.
